Senzai is a color scheme for your code editors, user interfaces and semiotic projects that is designed with aesthetics and functionality in mind.

Intentionally selected colors in two tints are accompanied by a set of neutral colors to form a soft but clear and distraction-free user interface.

The Senzai colors were carefully chosen with color semiotics and functional contrast in mind, while their names are playful takes on the concepts of potentiality, latency and dormancy with a Japanese influenced twist.



  • Plants and flowers store their energy, attempting to utilize it when it benefits them most, while at the same time producing beautiful displays.
  • Fruit and fish show us visions of lifes attempt to perpetuate yet can be transformed into stunning dishes to tantilize and sustain.
  • Sea and sky envoke the feeling of limitlessness and a yearning for the possibility of what lies within and beyond.
  • Stone seems to stand stoic and eternal, yet can be placed in a garden with care to please the eyes or formed into that which is foundatinal.

    Chosen to evoke a relaxing and fresh feeling, these colors are named after seasonal and festive treat themes. To some they are perhaps reminiscent of a small village of animal friends hanging out catching fish and bugs in the sun.
